RENforshort’s latest track is a grungy piece of pop that has particular meaning after the separation of lockdown. In ‘Fuck, I Luv My Friends’ the Canadian newcomer laments ‘Fuck I love my friends, without them I’d be dead, I know they’re the only ones who’ll love me til the end, we’re all such a mess, lonely and depressed, been so long and I can’t wait to, see them all again, fuck, I love my friends.’ The guitar-driven tune shows an appreciation for a wide palette of music, from the dark tones of Soundgarden and The Pixies, to the impressively catchy choruses that aren’t a million miles away from Alanis Morrissette. The track comes alongside a colourful, meaningful video and comes just weeks after her track ‘I Drive Me Mad’ was remixed by Linkin Park rapper Mike Shinoda. -Dan Peeke
